Deanna Henion Digital Paintings
My paintings are created entirely on a computer; no photographs or scanned images are used.

I begin with a “blank screen” as my canvas and build my images with a traditional approach—a sketch, a value study, and various color studies. Then, I “paint” using the natural media computer program, Painter, laying down layers of colors with a variety of digital brushes until the painting becomes my vision.
I use Photoshop as a print management program. The paintings are printed on a large format printer at high resolution, using archival inks and a fine art canvas made exclusively for digital printing. With proper care, the longevity for this ink and canvas combination is estimated at 65 to 100 years before noticeable fading occurs.
